Optimized Multirow

RODEON VR Head/Station becomes even more efficient.

Thanks to our new and unique multirow optimization, the work with the RODEON VR Head gets more efficient up to 35%. The realized reduction of single captured frames saves time, disk space and battery lifetime by the same amount.

Hereby only overlaping areas of the tiles get reduced, and therefor no disadvantage during the later stitching process and also no reduction in resoluten apears by that. The reduced amount of data also leads to an accelerated stitching process.

The new multirow optimization is available for all (even older) Rodeon Models within our latest capturing software (download area) by now.

The Multirow-Optimization in detail:

Until now, all capturing sequences have been similar to the geometric structure shown below. Independent from the vertical viewing angle, a constant count of images have been taken around the center point. (15x7 images here).

The booth highlighted single tiles (yellow), which are placed at the equatorial plane and at 60° vertical angle, impressively illustrate how the image effective part (green) strongly decreases towards the spherical poles.

To achieve an approximately constant usage ratio, the amount of tiles gets reduced towards the poles automatically. On a full sphere up to 35% of the tiles can be saved.

In direct comparision - previous (red) vs. multirow opimized (green) sequence - the economy of already 10% becomes clearly visible.
