RODEON immortalizes world heritage
After the devastating earthquake of 1997, which haunted one of the seven highest-ranking chapels (Basilica Maior) of the Catholic Church, the Basilica of "San Francesco" in Assisi, and impaired it heavily, the fresco cycle by Giotto di Bondone has been extensively reconstructed among others. These frescoes are considered to be one of the most valuable art treasures, and were now been high resolution digitally scanned for posterity and faithful reproduction for public audience.

For doing this a specially designed model, the RODEON VR Head GT, has been used. This unit is able to highly accurately position besides the camera also two studio flash bulbs. Thereby not only an overwhelming resolution could be achieved, but also the images could be protected against desaturation caused by to much light radiation.
